Son projet combinera la <a href=\"https:\/\/agenceconceptk.net\/speechneurolab\/stimulation-magnetique-transcranienne-tms\/\">stimulation du cerveau (TMS)<\/a>[1], \u00e0 l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/agenceconceptk.net\/speechneurolab\/imagerie-par-resonance-magnetique-irm\/\">imagerie du cerveau (IRM)<\/a> et \u00e0 des tests de laboratoire. Approuv\u00e9 par le comit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9thique de la recherche sectorielle en neurosciences et sant\u00e9 mentale en 2018, le projet en est maintenant aux derni\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de pr\u00e9paration!<\/p><p>Val\u00e9rie est en formation intensive au laboratoire depuis plusieurs semaines, sous la supervision de Pascale Tremblay, pour ma\u00eetriser tous les outils et instruments du laboratoire qu\u2019elle utilisera dans son projet, en particulier la stimulation du cerveau et l\u2019IRM! Dans les jours \u00e0 venir, l\u2019\u00e9quipe sera pr\u00eate \u00e0 accueillir des participants au laboratoire du\u00a0Centre de recherche CERVO\u00a0pour son projet!<\/p><p>Pourquoi \u00e9tudier la perception de la parole dans le bruit au moyen de la TMS? Nous vivons dans un environnement bruyant dans lequel cohabitent de nombreux sons, du murmure aux m\u00e9lodies harmonieuses en passant par le vacarme urbain. Malgr\u00e9 tout ce bruit, le cerveau humain, cette formidable machine, arrive \u00e0 filtrer les bruits pour se concentrer sur la parole. Avec l\u2019\u00e2ge, toutefois, cette capacit\u00e9 diminue rapidement. Les causes de ce d\u00e9clin ne sont pas encore compl\u00e8tement comprises. Nos travaux [2-3] et ceux d\u2019autres \u00e9quipes montrent clairement que le vieillissement du cerveau est un facteur majeur, mais les circuits endommag\u00e9s n\u2019ont pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 compl\u00e8tement identifi\u00e9s. La TMS sera utilis\u00e9e ici pour moduler temporairement le fonctionnement d\u2019aires qui font partie de la voie dorsale du langage [4] : le cortex pr\u00e9moteur ventral [5] (PMv, voir r\u00e9gion A de la Figure 1 sur l\u2019image) et la partie la plus post\u00e9rieure du gyrus sup\u00e9rieur temporal (voir r\u00e9gion B sur la Figure 1 de l\u2019image). Comme d\u00e9montr\u00e9 dans une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente du labo [6-7], des dommages \u00e0 cette voie sont li\u00e9s aux difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 percevoir la parole dans le bruit.
